DESCRIPTION/ABSTRACT:

The 30 Calit2 Summer Undergraduate Research Scholars will present their posters from 3-5pm, after a Calit2 General Staff Meeting when Calit2 division director Ramesh Rao provides a status report (2pm) and four of the undergraduates make presentations on their research (2:15-3pm). The poster session (3-5pm) represents the culmination of 10 weeks of intensive research across various disciplines by the scholars. During the presentations in the Calit2 Auditorium, the research talks will cover:

- A Distributed Localization System Using Clusters of Microphones (Vishal Kotcherlakota, Electrical Engineering; Advisor: Massimo Franceschetti, ECE)
- Accurate Measurement of the Thermal Conductivity of Nanostructured Thermoelectric Materials for Energy Harvesting Application (Alex Dooraghi, Physics; Advisor: Prab Bandaru, MAE)
- Development of Image Processing Methods for the Quantification of Immunohistochemical Staining (Utsav Gupta, Bioengineering; Advisor: Robert Sah, Bioengineering)
- Digital Archaeology in the Southern Levant (Charlene Wang, Biology/Anthropology; Advisor: Tom Levy, Calit2/CISA3/Anthropology)
