Bio: Dr. Lyden continues a distinguished record of achievement in the field of cerebral vascular disease and stroke. He edited the book Thrombolytic Stroke Therapy, which received a very favorable review in the Lancet, and is rapidly gaining recognition as a leading resource in the field. The demand for this book is extraordinary, reflecting the growing interest in thrombolytic therapy; a second edition is in preparation. The book is unique in its inclusion of cases as tutorials designed to help the reader learn to use thrombolytic therapy.

Dr. Lyden’s laboratory research focuses in two major areas: angiogenesis after ischemia, and mechanisms of cerebral hemorrhage. His investigations have resulted in important new findings that have been described in numerous articles and presented at both national and international meetings.

Basic and translational research in the area of brain ischemia.
